The room is good sized, warm comes with really comfortable futon and shared bathroom, for instance. The staff has always been welcoming and helpful. Marvellous location not far from the village centre, and bus station, it's central.

the traditional tatami room and futon were comfortable and gave us a taste of Japanese culture. the host, although not fluent in English, made an effort to communicate through signs around the property. the location was ideal, close to art installations and the Apron Café, which we highly recommend. the house had a homely atmosphere, with interesting drawings and mementos from past guests. it was a pleasant and unique accommodation choice on the beautiful island of Naoshima.
Everything was spot on! 👌

Free WiFi, air conditioning, and a garden to relax in. Enjoyed the American breakfast and had fun exploring Okayama South Village for some retail therapy.
Who needs laundry facilities and a shared lounge when you can just wear dirty clothes and be anti-social? So inconvenient!

I really liked the comfy futon in the room and having climate control and a flat-screen TV was convenient.

The room at Oyajino Umi was cozy and inviting, giving off a homey vibe that made me feel instantly relaxed. The shared bathrooms were clean and well-stocked with free toiletries, making it easy to freshen up before heading out for the day. As a laid-back traveler, I found this setup to be perfectly suited to my needs.
Personally, I would have preferred having a private bathroom in the room. However, I understand that some guests might enjoy the communal aspect of shared bathrooms, so it's just a matter of personal preference.

The location was amazing, just a short walk to all the art installations and museums. It felt like we were in a local village rather than a touristy area. Plus, the surrounding streets were charming and worth exploring. We also found a fantastic cafe nearby that I highly recommend for lunch.
We arrived after a public holiday, which meant many restaurants were closed. We struggled to find places to eat and ended up going to the same restaurant for two nights in a row.

I stayed at a cozy ryokan with tatami mats and futons. It had a pleasant, family-friendly atmosphere and a unique garden. The owner and her family were friendly, despite the language barrier. The location was convenient for visiting the Ando Museum and the Art House Project installations. The breakfast at Cafe Ippo was delicious, and the value for money was great. a comfortable and no-fuss accommodation option.
Would recommend this hotel.
